7/16/2008"Foley Fish Selects Seasoft to Process Orders Efficiently; Provide More Accurate Production Yields"
July 16, 2008 — Computer Associates (CAI) today announced that M.F. Foley Fish, a leading full-service seafood processing and distribution company located in Boston and New Bedford, Massachusetts, has selected Seasoft to integrate purchasing, inventory, order taking, distribution and accounting, and to provide cost-effective compliance of country-of-origin labeling regulations.

Foley uses Seasoft’s convenient Production Packing Interface (PPI), which combines specialized seafood processing and packing software, production-ready workstations, and fully integrated electronic scales and label printers.

“When customer orders are entered, they are rolled into an aggregate production planning report,” said Peter Ramsden, president of Foley Fish. “Our production managers use the report to create work orders directly on the Seasoft production workstations, with each work order specifying the species and precise weights to be cut."

We capture packing weights directly from scales and record the weights on the open work order, allowing for more accurate and efficient recording of production yields. The lots produced carry with them all necessary labeling information, including product description, tracking number, weight and country-of-origin.”

Developed in conjunction with an advisory group of clients in the seafood industry, and designed using industry-best practices and advanced computing technology, Computer Associates’ Seasoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software consolidates critical business information to maximize the efficiency of every aspect of your business. Seasoft offers a full range of business software modules to meet the unique challenges of weight-based, commodity-priced products where yields, lot and portion control, by-product accounting, settlement processing, catch weight, multiple freezer/warehouse and multi-corporation locations are of paramount importance.

“We enjoy our working partnership with the folks at CAI, and are very pleased with our decision to implement the Seasoft ERP software across both of our locations,” Ramsden added.
